Resizing Images

So in the midst of trying to get everything ready for baby I had a question asked that I can't quite get to right away and hope that you all would chime in, either in a comment or a new post, about how you resize your images both for clients (if you resize them at all for clients) and for other purposes such as web use and Facebook. I'm curious to know what you all do to and I hope to address this question from my side in the next couple weeks but should baby arrive I may not get to it! Thanks!!

Requesting Prayer

I am at a crossroads and would really appreciate prayer from those of you that do. I totally LOVE photography. I usually am not far from my camera and have literally thousands of pictures. It is hard for me to pinpoint just one interest. I love to take pictures of everything so finding a style or a specialty is hard.

The problem/blessing is that I have supportive parents that have been pushing me to start a business. I would absolutely love it if I felt I was ready and/or good enough. I am still learning and just got editing tools. However, they have purchased lighting, backdrops, editing software, etc. in hopes that I will start NOW! I am in the process of taking pictures while I build a portfolio. However, since I am not sure of a style or specialty, it is hard to choose how to proceed. Additionally, I do not want to promise a client something I cannot deliver.

I so appreciated Ashley for starting this group so that I could learn from all of you and to have contact with "real" lady photographers. I would love feedback from any of you that have taken the step into photography as a business as well as prayers to know exacty what the LORD would have me to do. I have been guilty of living my life my way for so long. I am tired of doing things that are expected or because it is where I feel the most comfortable(although I really do enjoy comfort!) Originally, I felt that this is my gift and I was being led down this path. However, the last few months have been very stressful to the point I wanted to throw my hands up in the air and say I quit. I am not sure if it is fear or if it is a sign that I outstepped the Lord's path for me. So, I am requesting prayer.I am finishing a edit of a friends's headshots that she needs for her business then I am stepping away for a week of prayer. I need to know how to proceed from here.

I apologize for my wordiness and thank you in advance for your prayers.

Hello from dez. d photography

Hello, my name is Dez. I am really sorry for the delay on introducing myself, the last couple months have been crazy but I am really excited to be a part of this blog and glean some great tips!
Well, I am 19 and currently a sophomore in college. I attended OSU last year but transferred to Western this year. I have no idea what I am studying or what I want to be when I grow up (I love hearing about different jobs and others experiences and any advice is much needed and appreciated!) I don't totally enjoy every aspect of school, but for now, it is good for me and where I feel led to be. I also am a volunteer Young Life leader. All of these activities fill my schedule and keep me going, and on top of these I have recently added some photography into the mix.
This September I started a Facebook page, dez d. photography, so my hobby has now turned into a little job for me! I have been very fortunate and appreciate all of the awesome and exciting experiences that have come along with this new endeavor. I have a ton to learn and at times it can be totally overwhelming, but God is good even in the chaos.
As for my equipment, I recently upgraded from my Canon Rebel Xsi to a Canon 5D Mark ll, which I absolutely love. I use Lightroom and Photoshop elements to edit.

Some more random things I love are; Jesus, my family, my friends, summer time, taking pictures (don't we all? :) ), espresso, music, kids, sunset skies, the beach, Shore Acres Christmas lights, the Human Bean and many many more things :)
