I did this shoot for a friends Quincera (sp?), she is quite a gorgeous 15 year old. I edited my favorite picture from the shoot. I absolutely love the editing process but I am always so jealous of other photogs finished products. So below is my original and then after that is my finished edited project. Please give me all the critiques you want:

Thanks for all of the support and an awesome photog blog,
Kathryn
Kate can you post this photo larger please, I wanna try something on it :) I love the concrete! Great choice for lighting! She is perfectly centered so keep in mind the rule of thirds (for those wondering what that is; divide your scene into 9 sections, two horizontal lines and two vertical lines, and place the subject at the intersections of those lines to create more tension in the photo). Also in the final edit I notice her skin... almost too much, maybe too orange. May I use your photo for another little tutorial once you get it up a bit bigger? I have a great way to monitor orange in someone's skin tone because for certain ethnicity's they can turn orange really quickly :) It's a beautiful shot as is Kate and she will be very happy!
ReplyDeleteNice shot :) I agree - looking orange, may be over brightened too, looks like you have lost detail on the left side of her face (her right). For the framing, When taking the shot I would have moved to the left a bit and kept her to the right third of the frame and kept that left vertical wall in the left third.
ReplyDeleteAre you using photoshop? I like what the processing has done to the background, I would keep that and just tone back the brightness and orange tone on her.
Ashley how can I upload a bigger size of the image?
ReplyDeleteOh, it should be simple I think :) When you put your photo in your post you can click on it and a little tool bar will pop up. Select original size or xlarge if the original won't fit in the screen and viole. Hopefully it's that simple! Although blogger hasn't been my friend lately.
ReplyDeleteis this big enough?? The other size was so big it wouldn't fit on the screen.
