Why hello ladies! I am so excited to be on the initiating side of a blog like this one seeing as how I owe much of my knowledge about photography and running a photography business to a similar group of ladies called the photo momma's. My hopes in starting this group are simple; I really want to learn from you and share any of the mistakes or successes I may have had while running my business, Fourth Light Photography. This blog is meant to be a place where we can share our struggles with photography, ask LOTS of questions about photography, encourage one another but also offer honest and gentle feedback when asked. I hope this is a place where you can all share your excitement from a great shoot or disappointment from an unexpected road bump. I know I've had my fair share of both!
I know some of you only through a few emails while others I've known for a few years now. Be it a new friendship or old I know all of you share my passion for photography and can't wait to learn more, grow more and have some support in starting a business, expanding your business or just learning the ropes of photography and shooting in manual. There's a large gamut of knowledge and experience amongst you all so please share what you know and ask what you don't! With that I would love for each of you to introduce yourselves, whether you're a beginner, hobbyist, or pro, share you favorite shot (that you've taken of course :), and anything else that is an important part of your life. I've tried to list links of your sites at the top but some of you don't have a site so Katie, Jill, Callie and Rebecca, you'll just have to post lots of photos here :) Without further ado, welcome to I <3 Photos!

I still shutter at the thought of saying professional but after running Fourth Light for three years I guess that's where I fall :)
This is my favorite shot of the summer... well there's two... no three!!
This is my son Lincoln (top,4) and Bear (bottom, 2). Baby girl is due December 14th! I've been married to my sweet husband Levi for 6 years and he is it for me! We hunt lots, camp lots and love God most of all! After running Fourth Light for 3 years I will be "closing" shop indefinitely while I begin home schooling my son and adjusting to a third kiddo. I'm sad to see the biz stop but I am excited to be a part of this! I've been shooting for 4 years now. I have a canon 5D mark 1, 85mm f/1.2, 100mm f/2.8, 35mm f/1.4, and a 50mm f/1.4. I carry it all in the amazing Lola bag from
epiphanie and I'm done collecting for now :)
What a fabulous idea - thank you for including me. I am sorry to hear about you closing up shop, but raising our children is our most important job! Good for you for focusing on whats best for you and your family, photography will be there for you when you get back, and they are lucky to have you documenting them in the meantime, even though your clients will miss you!
